摘    要:

Antimicrobial resistance is a major global public health challenge, and the widespread use of antimicrobials in the livestock sector is one of its primary drivers. Based on a global supply chain model, this study quantifies and analyzes the antimicrobial footprint of livestock production and its global flows through trade chains from 2010 to 2020. The results show that the global antimicrobial footprint peaked at 118.6 kilotonnes in 2013 and declined to 84.0 kilotonnes by 2020. China and the United States were the largest contributors, together accounting for nearly 60% of the global total. The per capita antimicrobial footprint decreased from 15.6 grams to 11.6 grams over the study period. Although most antimicrobial use remained embodied in domestic production, the share embodied in international trade increased from 16% to 20%, indicating substantial global spillover effects. Notably, Brazil surpassed China in 2020 to become the largest exporter of antimicrobials embodied in trade. Non-food products (such as apparel, services, and manufacturing goods) accounted for approximately half of the antimicrobial footprint embodied in trade. The decline in trade-related antimicrobial use is closely associated with stricter policies and reduced use intensity, particularly in China. This study reveals the complex linkages between antimicrobial use and global trade and provides empirical evidence to support antimicrobial governance at both global and national levels, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the livestock sector.

郑赫然,伦敦大学学院巴特莱特可持续建设学院副教授,基础建设项目投融资课程副负责人,UCL巴特莱特学院清洁能源与低碳转型专家组成员。主要研究方向为全球产业链数据库搭建、可持续生产与消费、可持续基础设施转型。曾在Nature Climate Change, Nature Cities, Nature Sustainability, PNAS,Global Environmental Change,Environmental Science & Technology等期刊发表论文90余篇,H-index 40。担任Nature,Nature Climate Change,Nature Sustainability等期刊审稿人。英国皇家地理学会会士、国际产业生态学协会EEIO共同主席、OECD投入产出方法手册专家资讯组成员,亚洲开发银行能源经济项目专家、山东大学、对外经贸大学客座项目研究员,获得全球2%高引学者、Environmental Research Letters期刊Top Cited Paper奖。Communications in Earth and Environment等期刊编辑。担任中欧生态环境协会理事会成员。
